One of the region's most high profile security companies has appointed new HR and employment specialists as it nears 300 employees from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Alpha Omega Securities based on Crewe Business Par continues to recruit with 50 more set to join the firm as large scale events come back this summer after the Covid pandemic.
Its male and female security personnel are regularly seen helping to safeguard visitors to shows and festivals such as the recent Cheshire Show, Dorfold Food Festival and upcoming Nantwich Food Festival as well as manning the doors of nightclubs and pubs.
Now the firm, founded in 1997, has hired legal specialists Employment Law Solutions based in Nantwich to provide its own security amid an ever-changing landscape of employment law.
Owner Ken Lawton said: "Alpha Omega has grown from small beginnings to employ a large number of people, more now than ever before, and that number is growing by the day.
"We create opportunities for all and working alongside Employment Law Solutions will allow us to strengthen our HR systems and ensure everyone, management and employees alike, know what is acceptable in a modern day workplace."
Alpha Omega is currently recruiting security patrol drivers, control room operators and weekend door supervisors to work in Crewe.
Mr Lawton added: "Our company strapline is 'People are at the heart of what we do' and all new employees commit to our core values which include being part of an error-embracing environment where they can speak their minds and make decisions.
"It's nice when people want to become part of the Alpha Omega 'family’, yet employment law does involve navigating a minefield of forever-changing legislation.
"It's reassuring to have Employment Law Solutions onboard offering a high level of expertise on our doorstep in South Cheshire."
Employment Law Solutions, based on Alvaston Business Park, helps employers handle staff grievances and stay compliant when it comes to complex legislation such as Equality and Diversity, Zero Hours contracts and Right to Work checks.
Barrister Alf Murphy who heads the family firm said: "Sudden and unexpected changes to the law make things hard for employers. Only last month the Supreme Court made a decision about part year workers and annual leave that will have serious connotations for them.
"Another key area is the Right to Work scheme and the documents checks needed to avoid prosecution now we have left the EU. Even the most diligent of employer can fall foul of complex law so our aim is to cut the stress so they can get on with running their businesses."
Alpha Omega, a long-standing member of the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, holds industry recognised accreditation for protecting people and property including CCTV services, key-holding and manned guards.
It is a keen supporter of many local charities including Leighton Hospital appeals and the new Alpha Omega Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Foundation to promote the safety and wellbeing of women.
